Does your company have backup protection in place, desktop/server and email virus protection, and a properly configured firewall?

These are three vital components a network needs to flourish. However, just having these components in place does not make your company safe from an unexpected hard drive failure, virus, or hacker. No matter how large the network, a properly configured backup protection that is checked regularly, a properly configured firewall to protect against security threats, and virus protection for email, servers, and computers is needed. Our goal is to reduce your company's downtime and to increase productivity by heading off emergencies before they happen. As with anything though, we are aware that things can go wrong. When that happens, we will be there to get you back up and running.

Analysis of Current Infrastructure

TNOG covers two particular steps when meeting with a prospective client. We begin the relationship with an introductory meeting in which we can help you articulate your business objectives and what you want your technology infrastructure to accomplish. We are interested in your overall goals as a company, and not just the technology aspect. Given the business that we are in, we know what the latest and greatest technology solutions might be, but these solutions might not be right for you and your company. In order to make the most precise recommendation for you, we encourage spending time getting to know you and the company.

The second part of our initial meeting consists of a fundamental system audit performed by our consultants. The purpose of this step is to have an understanding of your technology infrastructure, and to uncover any vulnerability you have that might need addressing. Many potential customers are surprised at what they already own but do not utilize or surprised by the relatively low expense of implementing cost-saving solutions. We'll then look over the items from the system audit and assign a priority to them based on your goals which will be then turned over to you in a formal proposal. The final proposal will point out the strengths and any weaknesses the network may have and if there are any recommended changes.

Making It All Work Together

Buying IT equipment and software is the easy part. There are a plethora of companies out there that will sell you all the latest gadgets. The problems start when you try to install and configure your gadgets and make all the different tools work together to provide you with some sort of benefit to your business. TNOG can help you. We can install and configure your IT systems to work for your business. Having an integrated system which works together and provide the business functions you require, enable you to work smarter rather than harder.

TNOG offers many services to our clients in either contract or one-time service calls. By using these services, companies can begin to take hold of their technology and embrace the future. See our services that we offer for a better idea of how we can assist your company.

Backup:

Disaster Recovery and business continuity planning is arguably the most important part of a functioning computer network system. We concentrate on particular backup hardware and software solutions that are cost effective in the short-term and provide solid protection and piece of mind in the event of a disaster such as hardware failure, fire, or flood. TNOG has centered themselves around Hewlett Packard and Dell backup devices and Veritas Backup Executive software.

Anti-Virus:

Adequate anti-virus protection includes filtering of web content, incoming mail scanning, desktop virus protection and server virus protection. Prudent solutions include protection of all susceptible devices, computers, and servers. Most viruses are spread through email attachments; it is imperative that all email be scanned before reaching and end-user's mailbox. Businesses that solely rely on desktop protection of viruses have a serious vulnerability that needs to be addressed. TNOG has centered themselves around Symantec Anti-Virus for all Servers and Desktops, and McAfee Anti-Virus for Exchange.

Server and Desktop Maintenance:

Servers and desktops need to be constantly updated for proper functionality. More importantly, security updates are needed because server systems can be targets for hackers and hacking programs. TNOG services include regular application of security updates, service packs, and software updates. TNOG has centered themselves around Dell servers and desktops. By purchasing a server or desktop from Dell will ensure that your business will have a high level of post sales support, a wider variety of warranty options, and stronger hardware reliability.

Firewall and Security:

Firewall protection is one of the most important pieces to the network vulnerability puzzle. Although your business may not be a target by any person or entity from a hacking standpoint; it is the untargeted, brute-force broadcasts that hackers unleash that can cause the most serious problems. Firewalls keep your network protected from unauthorized access. When you connect a computer to the public internet, you immediately become susceptible to an attack. Firewalls restrict network access to unauthorized users, but also unauthorized applications.

Although our firewall security recommendations are based on network types, number of users, any additional services needed (Virtual Private Network); many companies can be adequately protected at a fraction of the cost that is normally anticipated. TNOG has centered themselves around using Cisco Pix 501 and 506 firewalls.

Email:

To compete successfully in today's challenging business climate, businesses must enable more efficient ways for employees to communicate and collaborate. Email is currently the most widely used collaborative technology. More businesses use Exchange for email-based collaboration than any other product. Microsoft Exchange enables employees to gain access to critical business communications almost whenever and wherever they need to and is designed to deliver greater security, availability, and reliability. TNOG has centered themselves around using Microsoft Exchange.

Terminal Services and Citrix:

Terminal Servers are difficult to describe to an audience that is not familiar with the technology. It is important for every business with even minimal computer network needs to evaluate the potential uses of terminal services.

Terminal Server lets you deliver Windows-based applications, or the Windows desktop itself, to virtually any computing device. Terminal Server can enhance business software deployment capabilities for a variety of scenarios that remain difficult to solve using traditional application distribution technologies. When users run an application on a Terminal Server, the application execution takes place on the server, and only the keyboard, mouse and monitor information is transmitted over the network. Users see only their individual sessions, which are managed transparently by the server operating system, and remain independent of any other client session. Even more impressive is the ability to transmit the mouse, keyboard and monitor information over a secure internet connection.

TNOG has been deploying and supporting Terminal Servers since the first products became available for Microsoft Windows. TNOG also partners with Citrix for installation and support of their MetaFrame Product line. Citrix MetaFrame can greatly enhance the capabilities of the terminal services inherent to Windows Server 2000 and 2003.

Infrastructure Analyzation:

Does your current network infrastructure provide the power you need to support your peak business computing demands? What adjustments can be made to existing equipment to maximize your performance? What equipment might be added to enhance the existing equipment?

TNOG is committed to realizing the maximum potential performance of your existing networking infrastructure, as well as recognizing the need for any enhancements to give your infrastructure the power to meet your growing needs. Whether it is network cables, hubs, switches, wireless, or routers, we have the experience to know what is appropriate for your business, how to implement practical solutions and how to support solutions as inexpensively as possible.

VPN:

Looking for a company that can install and manage a Virtual Private Network connection to another location (branch office or home)? TNOG has been a long time partner of Cisco Systems. Allow TNOG to consult on how to take full advantage of components you may already possess or consult on what equipment is best suited for additional solutions that may be needed. TNOG's experience with Virtual Private Networks, Firewalls, Local Area Network and Wide Area Networks makes us a well rounded firm that can find the best solutions for your business needs. Many appliance-based network components can provide several types of network services and companies are often surprised of the capabilities that are not being used on the equipment they already own.
